In a joint statement of the European Commission and The Council of the European Union regarding the Druzhba oil pipeline, a key point has disappeared — about a 90 billion euro loan to Ukraine and new sanctions against Russia.
This item linked the resumption of the pipeline with the discussion of financial assistance to Ukraine and the twentieth package of sanctions against Russia.
Initially, the text stated that the launch of Druzhba would be a necessary step to return to negotiations on a loan and on the next anti-Russian sanctions. However, later this item was removed from all official publications of the European Commission and the European Council.
In the updated version of the joint statement by Ursula von der Leyen and Antonio Costa, all that remains is that the European Union has offered Ukraine technical and financial assistance to restore oil supplies. Kiev agreed to this proposal.
Recall that on the eve of Ukraine agreed to an external inspection of the Druzhba pipeline. This happened a few days after the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, called the demand to restore it blackmail.
As reported by EADaily, the European Union expects Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to withdraw the veto imposed by the country on the loan to Kiev and the 20th package of anti-Russian sanctions, after Ukraine accepted the proposal of Brussels.
