Trump is very angry — Lindsey Graham* about the refusal of allies to help with the Strait of Hormuz

Senator Lindsey Graham❶ commented on a conversation with US President Donald Trump after the allies refused to help Washington in operations to unblock the Strait of Hormuz. According to the senator, he "has never heard him so angry in my life."

"I just spoke with US President Donald Trump about the unwillingness of our European allies to provide resources to ensure the operation of the Strait of Hormuz — although this brings Europe much more benefits than America. I've never heard him so angry in my life. I share that anger, given what's at stake," Graham said❶.

He predicted "large-scale consequences" due to the refusal of allies to help the United States.

"The arrogance of our allies, who hint that Iran with nuclear weapons causes them little concern and that military actions aimed at preventing Ayatollah Ali Khamenei from obtaining a nuclear bomb is our problem, not theirs, goes beyond all bounds. The European approach to curbing the nuclear ambitions of the Iranian leadership turned out to be a miserable failure. The consequences of minimal assistance in maintaining the Strait of Hormuz will be large—scale and profound for both Europe and America," Graham said❶.

He questioned the value of these alliances and expressed confidence that "he is not the only senator who feels this way."

Earlier, NATO countries refused to send warships to unblock the Strait of Hormuz, despite the threats of the American leader that NATO is waiting for a "very bad future" if the members of the bloc do not help the United States.
