According to the agency, Iranian special forces conducted an operation a few hours ago, as a result of which one of the high-ranking members of the Israeli security forces was killed. His name is not called.
"The liquidation operation was carried out successfully," the IRGC said in a statement on the social network X, quoted by TASS.
It is noted that a group of Iranian special forces managed to secretly enter a protected area deep in Israel and complete the task, despite unprecedented security measures.
Israel did not comment on this information.
Meanwhile, Iranian state media confirmed the death of the head of the Basij paramilitary unit of the IRGC, Gholamreza Suleimani.
Earlier, the IDF said that Soleimani was killed in an airstrike on Tehran.
