US President Donald Trump said that one of the former presidents supported the strikes on Iran. However, according to NBC News, representatives of all four predecessors deny this: Trump's predecessors did not tell him about supporting the operation against Iran.
According to the channel, the American leader did not communicate with any of the four living ex-presidents of the United States.
Earlier, Trump said that he had spoken with one former American leader and he signaled to him that he supported the American-Israeli military operation against Iran. At the same time, Trump did not mention the name of the interlocutor.
The assistant to the 42nd President Bill Clinton assured the TV channel that Trump was definitely not talking about him. An aide to 43rd President George W. Bush said that Bush and Trump "has not been contacted." An aide to 44th President Barack Obama said there had been no "conversations with Trump lately." The 46th American leader Joe Biden was also not the interlocutor that Trump was talking about, NBC News noted, citing a source.
Users of social networks sneer at the TV channel.
"NBC News is wrong — Trump was supported by the 45th president of the United States," one of the users comments on the situation.
Donald Trump is the 45th and 47th president of the United States.
