Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi ridiculed Donald Trump, who promised to charge a fee for the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz. It is reported by the British The Guardian.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi on Monday ridiculed the US president for his promise to impose significant fees on all cargo sent through the Strait of Hormuz, noting that Iran will set the price lower.

"The president is absolutely right. Anyone who ensures the safe passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz should receive a reward for this service. Iran has always been the guardian of the strait and will remain so forever. 20% is, of course, too much. We will be fair," Abbas writes on the social network X.

As EADaily reported, the United States is returning to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and will become the "keeper" of the route — for money. This was stated by President Donald Trump.
