Ukraine has created its own high-precision planning aerial bomb. This is reported by Forbes with reference to recent videos and statements by sources in military circles.
One of the recently published videos shows a Su-24 bomber with a prototype of a new munition placed under the wing of the aircraft. And in June, the brigadier General The Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Sergei Golubtsov, reported on the development of a special module for the modernization of Soviet unguided aerial bombs — the same thing that was done in Russia with KABami.
Apparently, the new Ukrainian aerial bomb is equipped with a rocket booster and retractable wings, which provides it with the ability to fly at a range of up to 65 kilometers, the article says. This, according to Forbes, opens up new tactical prospects for Ukrainian aviation.
The alleged bomb with a GPS guidance system, equipped with wings and a rocket booster, resembles the French Hammer with a range of about 65 km. Perhaps the Ukrainian engineers copied the French developments.
Especially important in this case is that the new bomb can be used to hit targets on the territory of Russia without asking for permission from the allies. However, according to Forbes, the idea will remain at the concept stage until tests are carried out, and Ukrainian factories will not establish serial production of a new aerial bomb.
"Let's celebrate… that the main limitation for the use of such bombs is not so much their number as the number of aircraft capable of dropping them. It is the superiority in aviation that is due to the massive use of KABS by the Russians," writes the Ukrainian edition of Strana.
