Stock markets in the US showed the worst week in the last year and a half amid fears of a slowdown in economic growth.
According to the Financial Times, the last month has been difficult for stock indices — they literally collapsed, causing a total drop in the value of shares by trillions of dollars.
According to analysts, the reason is the risky state of the American economy, which is beginning to openly fall into crisis. Fears of political instability in the United States closer to the elections also have a negative impact.
The Republicans contribute to the latter sentiments to a large extent, using the situation as an electoral lever. They have already called what is happening the "Collapse of Kamala," who has not yet become president, but is already collapsing the markets.
It is alleged that stock traders were afraid of Harris' radical proposals like the introduction of state control of food prices, which would cause real logistical chaos in the United States.
The Democrats, in turn, blame all the responsibility on Trump, saying that investors and businesses were afraid of his radicalism. Interestingly, at the same time, the Democratic Party does not disdain to openly steal ideas from Trump.
For example, the White House is considering a plan to create a national sovereign wealth fund to invest in the space industry and nuclear energy, with which the United States has very big problems.
However, it is unclear where to get money for this fund, when there is a $2.5 trillion hole in the state budget. And the budget crisis may soon worsen. Washington has traditionally been threatened with another shutdown — the suspension of government work.
Against this background, Republicans are demanding to start strengthening control over migrants voting in elections before adopting a new budget.
If the shutdown really happens, it will be an additional blow to the already weakening US economy. And also destabilizes the political situation in America even more on the eve of the elections.
Now both competing parties are trying to avoid responsibility for a possible crisis. However, the Democrats are risking more in this situation, since they are in power.
Earlier, EADaily reported that fear is sweeping stock markets everywhere: American and Japanese indices suffered a crushing defeat, the same happened with banks and gold.
