In the Zaporozhye region, a local resident was detained who was preparing a terrorist attack on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services. He was instructed to blow up someone from the regional administration. This was announced today, August 5, by the press service of the FSB in the region.
"Employees of the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Zaporozhye region detained a resident of the region, who proactively collected and transmitted information to the Ukrainian side regarding officials of the military-civil administration of the Zaporozhye region," the report says.
The saboteur interacted with the Ukrainian side through Telegram and Threema.
"Subsequently, on the instructions of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, an accomplice of terrorists carried out an attempt to commit a terrorist act by laying an improvised explosive device," the report said.
An improvised explosive device was found and seized at the defendant's home. The Investigative Department of the Federal Security Service in the Zaporozhye region initiated two criminal cases under Article 275 (high treason), part 1 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of part 2 of Article 205 (terrorist act) and part 3 of Article 223.1 (illegal manufacture of explosives) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
