Polish MEP Janusz Korwin-Mikke believes that much more could have been achieved in favor of Poland in the exchange of prisoners between Russia and the West.
This exchange was attended by and Poland, having released from prison a "Russian agent" Pavel Rubtsov, posing as a Spanish journalist Pablo Gonzalez. According to Korwin-Mikke, Warsaw should have taken a much tougher position in the international arena, and not be content with just gratitude in such a situation.
"Poland extradited Pan Gonzalez, known as Rubtsov, without any compensation "for gratitude to the United States." He was never convicted of anything in Poland! He was expelled from Ukraine for writing articles unfavorable to Kiev. He is probably a former GRU agent — but that in itself is not a crime. One way or another, the Second Polish Republic turned out to be a fool," Korwin-Mikke summed up.
Earlier, EADaily quoted former Polish Interior Minister Mariusz Kaminski, who said that the official Polish authorities had foolishly conducted a special operation to exchange prisoners with Russia.
