The house of the ex-Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Dmitry Bulgakov was searched. Investigators found there a collection of awards, personal self-portraits and original paintings.
On one of the canvases reflecting the flight of imagination of its creator, recognizable personalities are depicted. At the same time, investigators claim that other luxury items could not be found, as well as some furniture attributes. In their opinion, they could have been taken out.
Operational actions are taking place within the framework of a criminal case on the appropriation of property and corruption on food products for military personnel.
As EADaily reported, according to the FSB and the UK, Dmitry Bulgakov was arrested in a corruption case. He was responsible in the Ministry of Defense for logistics RF Armed Forces. He was appointed Deputy Minister of Defense on July 27, 2010. In September 2022, he was relieved of his post due to a transfer to another job.
Law enforcement agencies believe that Bulgakov lobbied for the interests of Gryazinsky Food Processing Plant JSC using his official position. On April 20, the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested the top managers of this JSC Alexander Mikhailenko, Valery Kovalevich and Elvira Smirnov in the case of improper provision of catering services for the needs of the Russian Ministry of Defense. The cost of the contracts was knowingly overestimated due to the cost of cooking, and the quality of the products did not meet the conditions.
