US President Joe Biden has said he will not seek re-election to the post. This is reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The 46th President of the United States, Joe Biden, has decided to end his re-election campaign amid growing concerns about his mental health and calls to resign, the magazine writes.

"Biden announced this via his official social media on Sunday and noted that he would address the nation later. This extraordinary decision marks the first time that a sitting US president has rejected his party's candidacy for a second term since Lyndon Johnson refused to run in the elections in 1968," the newspaper informs.

It is noted that no US presidential candidate has ever dropped out of the election campaign during the general election campaign.

"It has been the greatest honor in my life to be your president. And although I intended to seek re—election, I believe it is in the interests of my party and the country that I step down and focus solely on fulfilling my duties as president until the end of my term," Biden wrote.

As EADaily reported, Joe Biden has made a decision and it is to run for re-election and win the presidential race. This was stated in an interview with the program "Face the Nation" on CBS, which aired today, Biden's campaign co-chairman Cedric Richmond.

So he answered the question of the presenter, they say, has Joe Biden lost control of the Democratic Party.
