Naftogaz hopes to get compensation from Gazprom for overpaying 34% more for gas during emergency procurement of gas in Europe this month, Naftogaz Commercial Director Yuri Vitrenko has said.
According to current data, average price for gas from European suppliers in March was 33.9% higher than the price offered by Gazprom (after it was decreased in accordance with a verdict of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce). This overpayment will be presented to Gazprom for compensation, Vitrenko wrote in Facebook.
According to him, the Ukrainian side has already sent a note to Russians.
Earlier, Vitrenko said that Ukraine had to make up for the gas deficit by buying gas in Europe at a price four times higher than from Gazprom.
