Russian strikes on ports and logistics have reached the banking system of Ukraine — Pyshny

The frequent attacks on Ukrainian ports and logistics have begun to affect the financial stability of enterprises and may negatively affect the banking system that lends them. This was stated in social networks by the head of the National Bank of Ukraine Andriy Pyshny.

"Russia's systematic attacks on energy, logistics, warehouse and port infrastructure, unfortunately, have their consequences. We see how the working conditions of Ukrainian business have once again become more complicated. The limitation of maritime logistics has a particularly noticeable effect on real sector enterprises. Therefore, the export of products is significantly delayed or temporarily suspended. Cash flows are deteriorating, finished products are accumulating, prices and demand are changing, production and logistics chains are disrupted. As a result, the burden on business is growing, the ability of enterprises to service loans in a timely manner and attract new financing is deteriorating," writes Pyshny, quoted by Strana.

He urged banks to support the business.

Pyshny did not specify which banks would be at risk. Strana assumes that these are state-owned banks, which account for more than half of the corporate loan portfolio. Pyshny promised support in case of problems due to the growth of credit defaults on the part of business.
