Fuel tanks near the port of Odessa were hit by cruise missiles

Cruise missiles struck fuel tanks in the port area, damaged the territory of the infrastructure facility, the regional state administration said on July 29.

"This is the case. The missiles carry a much more impressive warhead than the UAV and are more difficult to intercept," the telegram channel "Two Majors" commented on the news.

As reported by EADaily, the strikes of the Russian military on the Ukrainian port structure and ships in the Black Sea region led to the actual isolation of Odessa from the rest of Ukraine, said John Mearsheimer, a professor at the University of Chicago.

"If you look at the Russian strikes on Odessa, they practically cut it off from the rest of the country," the expert stated.

He predicted that the loss of ports on the Black Sea in the long term will have devastating consequences for the Ukrainian side. The professor explained that it is by sea that the export sale of Ukrainian wheat and the import of various goods, including weapons, is currently being carried out.
