Chairman of the Union of Theatrical Figures of the Russian Federation, People's Artist of Russia Vladimir Mashkov proposed to establish an Artist's Day in the country, which will be celebrated on January 17.
He added that this idea has already been supported by the Organizing Committee for the preparation of the 150th anniversary of the Union of Theatrical Figures of Russia.
"We suggest January 17 as the date. This is the birthday of the first People's Artist of the Soviet Union Konstantin Sergeyevich Stanislavsky," Mashkov explained.
As reported by EADaily, in mid-November, the Oleg Tabakov Theater, whose artistic director is Mashkov, began work on a play about the participants of a special military operation under the working title "Call sign "Silence." The author's staging of Oleg Antonov is based on the stories of a volunteer participant in a special military operation. The director of the production is Sebastian Smyshnikov.
The performance is created within the framework of the project "Own. Unthinkable stories", which is united by one theme — understanding the importance of a frank conversation about a special military operation. The premiere of the play is scheduled for 2025.
