After banning the songs of the legendary Maestro, he canceled a concert in Latvia.

Soviet and Latvian composer Raymond Pauls canceled his performance at a concert in Jurmala. This is reported by the portal "Gazeta.<url>" with reference to the 90-year-old musician himself.

The concert was to take place on August 3 at the Dzintari Concert Hall.

"Unfortunately, the concert had to be canceled. I feel bad, now I'm just being treated at home," said the Maestro.

It should be noted that the poster of the Dzintari concert hall on August 3 shows a concert by Israeli singer Yasmin Levy.

The name of Pauls is indicated only in the concert on September 5, which will be the final event of the season.

"The concert program will feature the most beautiful and favorite melodies of Raymonds Pauls from legendary theatrical productions, including Wild Swans, Sister Carrie, John Neeland, Sherlock Holmes and many others," the show's description says. The participation of the Maestro himself in this event is not planned.

As EADaily reported, earlier the Latvian Seimas adopted in the second reading a bill banning radio stations from playing songs whose authors are persons under sanctions. If the amendment to the law on electronic media is adopted in the third reading, eight Pauls songs will be banned from broadcasting in the country due to the authors of the lyrics.

Pauls reacted to the ban indifferently.

"Let them forbid it. Whoever has the power, let him decide," he said.
