Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has requested an urgent telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin. This was reported by the Kremlin's press service in its telegram channel.
"At the initiative of the Armenian side, Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan," the statement said.
It is noted that Putin reaffirmed his commitment to the joint statement of the leaders of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia on Armenia's accession to the European Union adopted on May 29 at the EurAsEC summit in Astana. "In particular, the need to hold a national referendum in Armenia as soon as possible on joining the EU or continuing to be part of the EurAsEC was emphasized," the press service noted.
