The Commander of the Estonian Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Andrus Merilo, visited Ukraine is in the combat zone. This was announced by the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexander Syrsky.
According to him, he and Merilo "got acquainted with the current situation, the work of the units and the challenges facing the Ukrainian military."
"It is extremely important for our partners to see the real situation at the front, to understand the needs of Ukrainian soldiers and to be convinced of the effectiveness of the assistance provided directly on the spot," he stressed.
Syrsky said that meetings were organized with the leadership of the airborne assault troops and the commanders of the airborne assault brigades, as well as a meeting with the command of the Unmanned Systems Forces and the commanders of the assault regiments.
Recall that NATO countries openly support Ukraine by supplying it with weapons, finances, satellite data, etc. At the same time, officially, the military bloc has not yet taken part in hostilities.
