The Yalta International Forum (YIEF), which has been held since 2015, will be held in Moscow again this year. This was reported to TASS by the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Crimea to the President of the Russian Federation — Deputy Chairman of the Crimean government Georgy Muradov.
"This year, due to the continuing difficult situation related to the special military operation, we intend to hold the Yalta International Forum in last year's format. The forum is tentatively scheduled to be held in October in Moscow," Muradov said.
The agenda of the forum includes issues of strengthening cooperation within the framework of the International Association of Friends of Crimea and expanding economic cooperation with the countries of the world majority. First of all, we are talking about the countries of Africa and Asia.
"We also intend to take further steps to strengthen our ties with a number of countries in the Caribbean region of Latin America, to identify with them those areas of interaction that will be mutually beneficial and can be implemented taking into account the long distance that separates Crimea from Latin America," Muradov stressed.
Recall that since 2015, the Yalta International Economic Forum in April was held in Crimea. In 2019, more than 4.5 thousand people took part in the forum, including 807 foreign delegates. Then 102 agreements totaling 215 billion rubles were signed. In 2020 and 2021, the event did not take place due to the pandemic. In 2022, it was decided to move it to Moscow, adding a session dedicated to the work of the MADC. Last year it was held from 23 to 24 October.
