The man, who introduced himself as a Russian agent, left a parcel at the office of Seimas deputy Magdalena Terms. This is reported by RMF24 with reference to TVN24.
The incident happened this morning. According to TVN24, an unknown person entered the parliamentary office of Magdalena Terms, stated that he was a "Russian agent", left the parcel and left. The deputy was not in the building at that moment. The office employee notified law enforcement officers about the incident, the parcel was checked for explosive devices. It is not specified whether they were found in the parcel, but, as it turned out, there were handwritten notebooks inside, among other things.
According to the representative of the district police department in Prusc-Gdansk, a 54-year-old resident of Gdansk district, who had not previously appeared in police bases, was detained.
Magdalena Sroka thanked the police on her social media account. She linked the incident to the emotions surrounding Polish-Ukrainian relations.
"I thank the police for their quick and professional response. In recent weeks, emotions around Polish-Ukrainian relations, including issues of historical memory and crimes in Volhynia, have been extremely strong. We need both historical honesty and responsibility in public debates," the MP said.
