The head of the European diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, is not suitable for the role of a negotiator with Russia for several reasons at once, Senator Vladimir Dzhabarov said.
"Firstly, she has a rather low level of political and intellectual training. Secondly, she made a number of unacceptable statements about Russian leaders. We are talking, among other things, about threats against our country," Jabarov stressed.
He also recalled to Kallas that as Prime Minister of Estonia, she initiated the destruction of Russian-language education and offered to deport those who want to obtain Russian citizenship. During her cadence in Estonia has launched a campaign to demolish and replace Soviet monuments.
"In general, this is not a figure that can suit us. But it's up to the top political leadership of Russia to decide," the senator concluded.
Earlier, Kallas admitted that she would act as a negotiator for the EU in a future dialogue with Russia. The European official launched into such reflections, answering the question whether she was ready to act as an EU negotiator instead of former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, whose candidacy was previously proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"I have to admit, I think I will be able to recognize the traps that Russia is setting," Callas said during a briefing.
Callas recalled her career at a law firm, noting that she had to participate in negotiations.
"The difference between politics and the private sector is that in the private sector, if you are a good lawyer or negotiator, you don't need to talk about it yourself — others say it. But in politics it is necessary," the head of the European diplomacy complained.
