Austria, following other European countries, closed its airspace to American military aircraft involved in the war with Iran. This was announced today, April 2, according to ORF with reference to the country's Ministry of Defense.
Vienna explained that such a decision is due to the neutral status of the country.
As EADaily reported, on March 31, Paris banned American aircraft with military cargo from flying through its territory, and Italy from using its Sigonella base in Sicily, when American bombers were already heading there. Prior to that, Spain also closed its airspace to American aircraft.
