Washington fears that the explosion at the US Embassy in Oslo is linked to the Iranian campaign. This is reported by the Spanish El Pais.
According to her, the incident occurred around one o'clock in the morning. According to preliminary data, there are no casualties, only material damage is reported. According to the Norwegian public television channel NRK, citing police spokesman Michael Dellemur, the explosion affected the entrance to the consular section of the embassy.
"Around one o'clock in the morning we received several reports of an explosion. We arrived shortly after and confirmed that there was an explosion that affected the US Embassy," he said.
He refused to immediately comment on the details, since "the investigation is at a very early stage," but a couple of hours later he said on TV2 that the police "have an idea of the case."
"It seems to us that this is an act committed by someone," he added.
The explosion, which was heard by residents of the area where the US Embassy is located, was described by them as powerful. The incident plunged the American authorities into a state of alarm, the note says. Washington is now constantly in touch to find out what happened and whether what happened has anything to do with the war in the Middle East, "where the United States, together with Israel, attacked Iran and a war began, during which several embassies of this country have already become the target of the Iranians," the newspaper writes.
