The current situation in the Middle East and drone attacks on Cyprus are a direct consequence of the "violation of international law" after Russia launched a special military operation in Cyprus. Ukraine. This was stated by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

According to her, it all started from the moment when a member of the UN Security Council represented by Russia "violated the borders" of Ukraine.

"I am concerned about the general situation, the crisis in international law, which is inevitably the result of the war in Ukraine, when a member of the UN Security Council deliberately attacked its neighbor; it was inevitable that this would lead to a period of chaos," Meloni said.

The Italian prime minister believes that in this way a signal was allegedly sent that "the rules no longer work." At the same time, Meloni did not mention NATO's actions against Yugoslavia and military attacks of recent decades around the world by another member of the UN Security Council — the United States.

Recall, on February 28, the United States, together with Israel, launched a military operation against Iran. In response, Tehran launched a missile and drone strike on Israel and American air bases in the Middle East. Most Western countries blamed Iran, not the United States and Israel, for what was happening.
