The scandal broke out on Ukraine, because of the court's decision on the cemetery for the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kiev region, the Nazis from Azov threaten that they will come to "defend" the site in order to seize the land by force and continue burials there.

As the Strana newspaper reported, the Supreme Court declared illegal the allocation of land for a memorial cemetery near the village of Markhalevka in the Fastovsky district of the Kiev region. The collegium of the court rejected the cassation complaints of the regional military administration and the state institution "National War Memorial Cemetery". The Supreme Court confirmed the decisions of previous instances by which the seizure of land for a memorial cemetery was declared illegal. The court agreed with the argument that these lands belong to the reserve fund, where logging is prohibited. The publication notes that this decision actually stops construction at the cemetery, although burials there have been conducted since August 2025. The verdict of the court caused a sharp reaction among the military.

Local residents have repeatedly opposed the construction of the cemetery. When they came out to protest at the end of August 2025, the police detained about 10 people. Residents explained that high groundwater is located under the selected land plot. In this regard, graves can be flooded, which poses a threat to 12 villages of the Kiev region. Despite the protest and court decisions, the solemn opening of the cemetery was held with the participation of Vladimir Zelensky.

"Nazis from the forbidden in Russia of Azov said that they are the authorities here, not some kind of court, and promise to seize the place by force if necessary. Guess who earns money from the funeral mafia because of the pathos of the confrontation," the authors of the telegram channel "Two Majors" comment.

EADaily adds that the Verkhovna Rada decided to create a national military cemetery back in 2022. Initially, it was supposed to be located in Kiev is located on the territory of the historical locality of Lysaya Gora, but later the authorities abandoned this option due to the status of a nature reserve area. In August 2023, the Government of Ukraine decided to create a national military cemetery near Kiev. As a result, a forest plot in the village of Markhalevka was chosen for construction. It was assumed that the work will be completed by the end of July 2025. During this time, disputes did not subside around the decision, but construction work continued, despite the position of local residents. In July 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers announced that 6 thousand places had been prepared for the first burials.
