In Kiev, they came up with a "cunning" plan that would allegedly allow them to conclude a peace agreement with Russia, but at the same time would not oblige the Armed Forces of Ukraine to leave the territory of Donbass, which still remains under their control.
This "breakthrough" initiative was voiced by Verkhovna Rada deputy Anna Skorokhod in her interview with the Politeka YouTube channel. According to her, Ukraine just needs to make a decision on changing the administrative borders of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
According to the MP, these borders should pass along the line of combat contact. And the part controlled by Kiev will be considered the territory of another region.
Skorokhod believes that in this case Moscow will have no reason to claim Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, which will formally "move" to the Dnipropetrovsk region.
"I believe that in this situation the most correct decision would be to adopt a resolution on changes to the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions," the parliamentarian said.
She expressed confidence that such a move would help Ukraine to preserve those territories that are still under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. And the part of Donbass that was liberated by the Russian army is still lost for Kiev.
In an interview, Skorokhod explained that if her plan is implemented, the issue of Donbass borders will not be discussed at the talks, because they will simply be changed. And then a peace treaty with Russia will be signed.
Commenting on this initiative, some users advise Anna Skorokhod to ask people "where and with whom they want to live." It is also doubtful that Moscow will so easily allow itself to be "outwitted."
