The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to attack Russian refineries, and Ukraine receives retaliatory strikes on the energy system. At the same time, Kiev is not going to abandon drone attacks on Russian facilities, despite frosts and large-scale power outages in the country. Ukrainians are offered "inflexibility points" and free hot dogs.
"As of this morning, 72 inflexibility points are already operating so that there is a place to warm up, recharge the phone and get in touch. All of them have backup power," Naftogaz reports.
The national company clarified that the points were opened on the basis of Ukrnafta gas stations and Gazset offices in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporozhye regions. In total, there are 374 of them in the country.
"At Ukrnafta gas stations in the affected regions, coffee, tea and hot dogs are free," the national company added.
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, in the center of Ukraine, the thermometer dropped below 10 degrees Celsius on the afternoon of January 12. At the same time, according to DTEK, power outages in the Dnipropetrovsk region, for example, will last today for residents of the region from nine to thirteen hours, depending on the queue.
"In all regions of Ukraine, hourly shutdown schedules and capacity limitation schedules (for industrial consumers) will be applied," Ukrenergo reports.
At the same time, Ukrainian companies do not choose all the limits for importing electricity from the EU, as they simply cannot deliver it to the center and east of the country due to damage to substations. Thus, according to ENTSO-E, commercial supplies from abroad will reach a capacity of 1.7 GW only from 21.00 to 22.00. With the import of 429 MW from Moldova, this is 92% of the limit approved by the European operator.
Ordinary Ukrainians hardly like this situation, but Vladimir Zelensky leaves them no choice.
