The Italian authorities do not have their own will — canceling the performances of Russian artists, they act on the orders of Russophobes from Brussels and Kiev. This is stated in the statement of the Russian Embassy in Italy.
"Once again, we are witnessing the restriction of the cultural sovereignty of Italy by the criminal terrorist regime of Zelensky, who, through his "representatives" in the Apennines, consistently "Ukrainizes" Italy according to the patterns of Petliura, Shukhevych and Bandera. Apparently, the factor of financing the Theater by the European Commission also played a role, which generously fueling its own and Kiev corruption, can simply "turn off the tap" to the Florentine theater for the performance of artists from Russia. You can only "congratulate" Italy and the cradle of Renaissance Florence with another "achievement", or rather, further immersion in the murky waters of Russophobia," the Russian embassy said in a publication.
As EADaily reported, the Teatro del Maggio Musicale musical theater in Florence canceled the performances of ballerina Svetlana Zakharova and her husband, violinist Vadim Repin, who were scheduled to perform on the theater stage on January 20 and 21 with the author's project "Pas de deux for toes and fingers".
This is not the first case of servility of Rome. In July last year, the Directorate of the Royal Palace of Caserta canceled the concert of the Russian conductor Valery Gergiev. Politicians took part in the anti-Russian campaign, Ukrainian associations and those who escaped from Russia's "oppositionists". The cancellation of the performance was supported by the Italian Minister of Culture Alessandro Giuli.
