Engineers of the Kalashnikov concern commented on the growing popularity of the modern Russian-made smoke grenade RDG-U. Ammunition is able to effectively protect the lives of fighters, instantly creating a veil. Details are provided by the press service of Izhevsk concern.

RDG-U masks not only soldiers, but also equipment. This design solution is patented by Kalashnikov, having a simultaneous instant and smoking principle of operation.

"The grenade acts instantly, creating a smoke screen of sufficiently high density. Due to the continuous feeding of the curtain with an aerosol stream from the smoking composition, a long duration of masking is created, "the press service said.

Engineers developed the RDG-U as a projectile to cover individual fighters or small units of equipment that came under enemy targeted fire.
