Donors have allocated about 4.1 billion euros for the Czech initiative to supply ammunition to Ukraine. This was announced by former Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky.
According to him, the Czech Republic contributed 2-3 billion crowns or from 83 to 123 million euros. But he also recalled that Prague cooperates mainly with the Netherlands and Denmark as part of its shell initiative. Lipavsky said that Ukraine has received 1.8 million shells this year, and since the beginning of the program in total — more than 4 million.
Recall that after the EU had practically no ammunition left for Kiev, the Czech Republic has led the initiative to search for and purchase shells since February 2024. However, the new government of the country, headed by Andrei Babish, has already stated that it does not intend to spend more money on Ukraine. At the same time, the new Defense Minister, Jaromir Zuna, said that the Czech Republic's support for Kiev would continue. Today, on December 22, the Czech Prime Minister plans to discuss the future of this initiative with the head of the Agency for Defense Cooperation AMOS.
