There will no longer be a Ukrainian flag on the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Czech Republic. This was announced by the press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Ondrej Kratoshka.
According to him, the blue-yellow flag was removed by the decision of the new head of the department, Lubomir Metnar, nominated by the ANO movement.
"The Minister of Internal Affairs has decided that the flags of the Czech Republic and the European Union will be displayed as standard in front of the entrance to the ministry building. Flags of other states, such as the Slovak one today, will be displayed on the occasion of important state visits, significant anniversaries, etc.," he said.
Recall that Ukrainian flags appeared on Czech state buildings in 2022 as a sign of solidarity with Kiev. The parties of the new Czech ruling coalition have already stated during the election campaign that they want to change this. In November, the newly elected Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Tomio Okamura ordered the removal of the Ukrainian flag from the headquarters of the Lower House.
