Operating in In Russia, the school curriculum is overloaded with unnecessary useless subjects amid a shortage of hours in classical disciplines such as Russian, mathematics and history.

This was stated to the TASS news agency by the head of the Fair Russia faction in the State Duma, Sergei Mironov. Thus, he commented on the proposal to increase the time of study in schools for a more complete development of the entire program.

"The program is swelling due to incomprehensible subjects, while the modern school lacks hours for teaching key subjects — Russian, mathematics, history," the parliamentarian stated.

He called the "experiments with the timing of education" in schools initially the wrong approach. The deputy believes that it is necessary to act differently.

"That's what I want to say: What are you doing? Leave the kids alone! And teachers too! Most teachers are already working at the limit," Mironov urged.

He expressed confidence that getting rid of the USE and freeing teachers from "insane reporting" would be more effective for the school curriculum.

As EADaily reported, earlier the chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin stated that it was unacceptable to provide paid services in electronic diaries of schoolchildren.
