In Georgia, a court sent to jail as a preventive measure three suspects in the storage of human remains near the city of Samtredia.

The defendants in the illegal disposal of hospital waste and amputated limbs are medical managers and an employee of a municipal cleaning company.

"The investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs established that the director of LLC „Eco Medical Group and LLC „Ecology and clean environment" in the city of Samtredia, he equipped an illegal hazardous waste storage facility in one of the depreciated buildings, where he temporarily placed a large number of them that pose a threat to human health and the environment," the prosecutor's office said.

All three were detained on a court warrant. They were charged with violating the rules for handling environmentally hazardous substances or waste (Part 1 of Article 288 of the Criminal Code of Georgia). This crime is punishable by a fine or imprisonment for up to two years.

According to local residents quoted by the Novosti Georgia portal, for a month waste with human remains was taken to the building of a former farm on the outskirts of the village from the clinics of the district center. At first, the villagers began to complain about the pungent smell, and later found human bones, which, according to them, street dogs dragged away from the site. Residents claim that they have repeatedly appealed to the local authorities, but the reaction followed only after the noise in the press.
