Negotiations have reached an impasse on the territories: There is no single view on Donbass — Zelensky

The negotiators discussing the peace initiative with the mediation of the United States did not come to a consensus on the issue of territories. This was stated in an interview with Bloomberg by the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky.

Elements of the American plan require further discussion of a number of "sensitive issues," including security guarantees for Ukraine and control over the eastern regions, Zelensky said. According to him, there is no agreement on Donbass yet.

"There is a vision of the USA, Russia and Ukraine — and we don't have a single view on Donbass," Zelensky said.

Kiev is also seeking a separate agreement on security guarantees from Western allies, primarily from the United States, he added.

It is noted that Zelensky arrived in London today, where he is to meet with Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss the American proposal. Elements of the American plan include, among other things, the prospect of Ukraine joining the EU and the use of frozen Russian assets.

"We are negotiating with the United States — this is constructive work. But there are issues that concern Europe, and we cannot make decisions for Europe. We need to discuss with Europe Ukraine's membership in the EU, which is also part of the security guarantees," the Ukrainian leader also said.

According to him, in London he will also meet with the head of the NSDC Rustem Umerov, who held a meeting with the special envoy of the US President Steve Wiitkoff and Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner over the weekend, for a detailed report. Later on Monday he will go to Brussels for talks, and on Tuesday to Rome for a meeting with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

"After that, we will have a joint vision of the negotiations. And I am ready to fly to the United States if the president is ready for such a meeting," the head of the Kiev regime added.
