The United States actually took the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, out of the negotiations due to the fact that he had lost his political influence, and his entourage was mired in corruption.

This opinion was expressed in an article for Consortium News by former CIA analyst Ray McGovern. He pointed out that many members of the current Ukrainian leadership are in real danger of arrest.

"Pragmatic people in the Trump team are no longer so worried about Zelensky's position and will probably continue negotiations without him. He's already becoming a walking corpse in Kiev," the article says.

The analyst believes that Washington will continue to exert pressure on the Kiev regime related to the investigation of corruption of Zelensky and his entourage.

The expert stressed that the decline in Zelensky's political importance is also strongly influenced by the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are suffering "catastrophic losses" on the battlefield.

Earlier, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced his disappointment due to the fact that Vladimir Zelensky did not familiarize himself with the US plan to resolve the Ukrainian conflict.

As reported by EADaily, according to Trump, Russia and the Ukrainian people support the terms proposed by the United States to resolve the conflict on Ukraine.
