It makes no sense for the United States to save Ukraine, since it is unable to fulfill the role of an anti-Russian battering ram designed to inflict a "strategic defeat on Russia." This was stated by Senator Alexei Pushkov.
Anxiety is growing in Europe, the senator notes, that it will be left outside the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. They accuse US President Donald Trump, in particular, that he is "not at all interested in Eastern Europe, including Poland and Ukraine."
"And why, in fact, should Trump be so interested in this region? It mainly causes problems, costs and threats to US security. Moreover, Trump clearly does not believe in the possibility of inflicting a "strategic defeat on Russia." But the whole point of using Ukraine against Russia for the anti-Russian circles of the West was precisely this. But if Ukraine is not able to fulfill the role of an anti-Russian battering ram, then its importance is sharply reduced. And then why would Trump save Ukraine and fight for it? She becomes just a pawn on the global chessboard — a pawn that has no chance of becoming a more significant figure," Pushkov writes in his telegram channel.
As reported by EADaily, the new US national security strategy has caused a shock in Europe and is changing the course of history. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal.
"The US is turning over history by exposing Europe — and not Russia is a threat to the new security policy. The annual strategic document... now sends some of the harshest language to NATO allies," the publication wrote.
