The European Commission dismissed the Ukrainian translator because of suspicion of work on Russia

The European Commission has dismissed a Ukrainian translator who was hired to translate the negotiations of high-ranking EU officials. This was reported by the European media.

It is reported that during one of their meetings of European officials with Vladimir Zelensky in December 2024, the translator took notes. However, according to the rules of the EC, it is forbidden to do this during confidential meetings where issues such as defense and security are discussed. These rules were introduced in response to concerns about possible espionage and the transfer of information to Russia. At the same time, her Czech colleagues informed her about the "strange" behavior of the translator.

After a thorough examination of the facts, the Commission has taken appropriate measures to prevent the recurrence of such an incident in the future. It was decided that the services of the aforementioned translator will no longer be used. The woman worked as a freelance translator and was hired by the EU to help leaders The EU is in communication with the President of Ukraine. The investigation of the incident has now been transferred to the Belgian authorities. The translator's name has not been disclosed, but the French edition calls her "Ms. I." According to Le Monde, she was born into a Russian family and has a sister who is also a translator. One of them was born in Russia. The sisters lived for some time on Ukraine. For about 20 years they have worked as freelance translators in NATO structures, the European Commission, as well as in the French Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs.

Recall that Zelensky's meeting with European officials in December 2024 took place shortly after Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election. Then the EU promised the head of the Kiev regime further military and financial support to Kiev, as well as assistance in protecting energy infrastructure.
