A Russian IL-76 transport plane landed in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, amid reports of a possible US attack. This is reported by the edition of Defense News.
The transporter arrived in Caracas on Sunday — after a two-day flight from Russia via Armenia, Algeria, Morocco, Senegal and Mauritania. It belongs to Aviacon Zitotrans, a company engaged in the transportation of military equipment, weapons and soldiers to countries that support Russia.
"The journey with several stops symbolizes the roundabout routes used to bypass western airspace or possible cargo inspections in unfriendly countries," the publication quoted Strana as saying.
It is noted that the IL-76 can carry up to 50 tons of cargo or up to 200 people. Aircraft of this type in the past delivered small arms, missiles and other military cargo, the publication recalls.
As reported by EADaily, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro appealed to Moscow for military assistance amid pressure from the United States. This was reported by The Washington Post.
Recall, the Russian X-31 missiles on board the Venezuelan Su-30 fighters represent a new phase of naval deterrence. This was reported by the publication Army Recognition.
So the publication commented on the new footage published on October 29 by the Venezuelan Air Force. They depict Su-30MK2 fighters with X-31 anti-ship missiles during flights over the Caribbean Sea.
