The former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Irina Kormyshkina, along with her husband Yuri and son, were removed from the Chisinau — Vienna flight. The decision was made by the captain of the aircraft after the man reacted inadequately to the remark of the flight attendant not to talk on the phone during takeoff.
The incident occurred on October 23. After the captain of the aircraft spoke with the Kormyshkin family, he decided to disembark them from the plane before departure.
Earlier this year, Yuriy Kormyshkin received a notice of suspicion from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine for the legalization of funds in the amount of 20 million Ukrainian hryvnia. Then he was ordered to pay a deposit of 15 million hryvnia and forbidden to leave Odessa and The Nikolaev area.
In October 2024, Irina Kormyshkina, at that time a member of parliament in Kiev, was suspected of illegal enrichment, and in February 2025, lawmakers voted to remove her deputy powers.
Subsequently, Yuri Kormyshkin pleaded guilty in the case of illegal enrichment of his wife and entered into a plea agreement. As a result, he received a probationary period of two years and agreed to transfer UAH 2 million to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to Ukrainian law, the probationary period also includes an obligation not to leave the country.
