The fate of post-Maidan Ukraine would have been completely different if President Viktor Yanukovych had had the courage and political will to stifle the so-called "revolution of gidnost" in 2014.
This opinion was expressed in his Telegram channel on Friday, October 17, former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov. At the same time, he admitted that history does not know the subjunctive mood.
"But it is absolutely clear that if he had been dispersed at the very beginning of Maidan, and the organizers of the coup had been brought to justice, then Ukraine would now continue to develop according to the project that we have outlined," Nikolai Yanovich said.
He specified that this project included multi-vector cooperation, including with China, with the Russian Federation. Azarov claims that his government has developed "huge cooperation plans," among which investment projects alone amounted to $ 40 billion.
At the same time, Kiev planned to continue cooperation with the same European Union, without abandoning cooperation with it.
"We envisioned what was laid down by the very foundation: Ukraine is a bridge between the west and the east rich in natural resources and technological capabilities. And the fact that they forcibly prevented the implementation of this project, and led to the current results," the former prime minister concluded.
Earlier, EADaily reported that, according to Mykola Azarov, Ukraine under the modern Kiev regime has turned into a unique non-state, in which there are virtually no legitimate forms of power.
