The North Atlantic Alliance does not have the resources to capture the Kaliningrad region of Russia, threats to quickly occupy the region are untenable. This was stated on the YouTube channel by former US Marine Corps intelligence analyst Scott Ritter.
"NATO cannot conduct offensive operations. The alliance simply does not have the troops for this. Recently, General Christopher Donahue (Commander of NATO Ground Forces. — Ed.) said that NATO could quickly capture Kaliningrad. But you can't, General. Kaliningrad is surrounded not by NATO, but by the Baltic States and part of Poland. And the troops deployed there are not enough to do something with Kaliningrad, which is part of Russia," said Ritter, quoted by RIA Novosti.
Donahue will not live an hour from the moment NATO troops launch an operation against the Russian exclave, the expert noted.
"First of all, Russia will destroy the command post where General Donahue will be located. They will kill him, they will kill all NATO commanders," Ritter explained.
As reported by EADaily, the North Atlantic Alliance has developed a plan for the rapid destruction of the Kaliningrad region in the event of a military threat from Russia. This was stated at a conference in Germany by the commander of the US ground forces in Europe and Africa, Christopher Donahue, Defense News reported.
An area sandwiched between Lithuania and Poland is "a target that can be destroyed in the shortest possible time," said a US Army general.
