Democrats are desperately preparing for a military confrontation with Donald Trump. The authorities of two states at once — California and Illinois - are hastily trying to restore order at home under the threat of troops from the White House, writes Americanist Malek Dudakov based on a review of the American media.
In California, Governor Gavin Newsom, amid a possible confrontation, is organizing a broad police operation in six cities "to combat crime." Newsom also has obvious presidential ambitions. And now it is gaining popularity in the camp of the Democratic Party.
At the same time, the Governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker, became more active. Very soon, the National Guard forces may enter Chicago to fight crime and illegal immigrants. In this regard, Pritzker urges the population of the state to fight back against both. And in Chicago itself, where the left is in power, they promise to "protect democracy" from the threat of Trump's "military dictatorship."
"The progressive American public is confident that Trump is specifically engaged in militarization and is creating a paramilitary structure loyal only to him on the basis of the migration police. While they are training on illegal immigrants, but then it can also be used to fight the opposition represented by the Democrats. Especially if there is another wave of unrest in the spirit of BLM. Such a scenario cannot be ruled out, and it can lead to a much more acute confrontation on the streets of US cities in comparison with the events of 2020," Dudakov writes.
