US President Donald Trump has announced the possibility of an "economic war" against Russia in the absence of progress on the Ukrainian crisis.
"I would like this (the Ukrainian conflict) to stop. I want it to stop. And it will not be a world war, but an economic war, and an economic war will be bad, and it will be bad for Russia. And I would not like that now," Trump said during a cabinet meeting.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously reported that the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long—term strategy of the West, and sanctions have dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy. According to him, the main goal of the West is to worsen the lives of millions of people.
