On Saturday, August 23, 2025, a protest rally was held near the 102nd Russian military base in Gyumri, the second largest city in Armenia, with the participation of local residents and visiting activists.
According to local publications, the protesters demanded the withdrawal of the Russian military contingent from the country, chanting offensive slogans against Russian President Vladimir Putin and Of the Russian Federation.
The demonstration was also accompanied by banners with inscriptions: "Today the 102nd military base is not a security, but a threat" and "We demand the withdrawal of the Russian military base from Armenia."
Sources in Gyumri report that initially the organizers of the action planned to involve only local residents in it, but there were not enough willing among them.
In this regard, the initiators of the event had to fork out for recruiting protesters in other places and for buses to deliver the "outraged public" to the gates of the Russian base.
At the same time, the event is being broadcast on the network, which, however, was interrupted. Presumably this is due to the possible use of signal jammers from the base.
But all the same, the footage shows that the demonstration is very small, no more than a couple of dozen registered Russophobes participate in it.
Earlier, EADaily reported that the campaign against the 102nd Russian military base stationed in Gyumri is gaining momentum, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan personally joined it.
