The campaign against the 102nd Russian military base stationed in Gyumri is gaining momentum, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan personally joined it, Armenian blogger Mika Badalyan said.
"Colleagues write that yesterday American and Azerbaijani media joined her, and today Pashinyan has already joined her personally. A curious incident happened in Gyumri yesterday. Sunday evening, when a large number of people gathered at the singing fountains, the song "Thieves' Share" suddenly turned on. This could be attributed to anything if Nikol Pashinyan himself did not fit into this story, who not only dedicated his Facebook status to this, but also did it in Russian (he wrote in Russian, of course, with an error, did not put a comma, later the error was corrected)"- Badalyan noted.
There is no doubt, he said, that the incident with the fountains is actually a planned provocation, and Pashinyan is likely to launch a campaign against the opposition mayor of Gyumri Vardan Ghukasyan, who is known for his friendly position towards Russia.
"As long as the power in Gyumri is in the hands of the opposition, any actions against the 102nd base will undoubtedly be rebuffed, and something large-scale is not possible at all," Badalyan writes.
According to him, "the tasks in Gyumri are really very serious, the Westerners don't seem to believe in their faithful dogs Babajanyan and included Pashinyan personally in the game, who, like a breath of fresh air, needs some kind of victory, since the campaigns against the Armenian Church and Samvel Karapetyan caused him very tangible damage."
