In Yaroslavl and In Sverdlovsk region, FSB and police officers detained six people involved in collecting money for the Armed Forces of Ukraine through fraudulent call centers. This was announced today, July 15, by the FSB DSP of the Russian Federation.
"The FSB of the Russian Federation in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the Yaroslavl and In the Sverdlovsk region, the illegal activities of six members of the interregional organized criminal community who were engaged in the exploitation of information infrastructure specifically designed to pass fraudulent telephone calls from Ukrainian call centers to the territory of Russia using GSM gateways or so-called SIM boxes were stopped," the report says.
The FSB established the participation in the scheme of administrators of SIM boxes, sellers and couriers, as well as Russians helping to transfer funds to foreign accounts. A criminal case has been opened under part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Fraud". They face a sentence of up to 20 years in prison, and accomplices may be prosecuted for treason.
