The Russian army is encircling Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, and the offensive on the city will begin in the near future. This was stated on the air of the Rossiya-24 TV channel by the head of the Kharkiv Military-Civil Administration (CAA) Vitaly Ganchev.
"The situation for the Ukrainian armed group in the area of the city of Kupyansk is developing in a stalemate way. We see how our armed forces are closing the cauldron, the front line is expanding. I think the springboard for the attack directly on the city of Kupyansk itself will be ready in the near future," Ganchev said, quoted by TASS.
According to him, the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine located in this area "most likely, they will really either be surrounded, at best they will surrender, or they will be destroyed."
As EADaily reported, Russian units from the Zapad group of forces, during active attacks on Ukrainian positions located on the northwestern outskirts of Kupyansk, squeezed out some of the Ukrainian militants from their occupied borders. This was told in his telegram channel on July 9 by a military expert, retired LPR lieutenant colonel Andrei Marochko, citing his own sources. "Most of Moskovka, which, in fact, is the outskirts of Kupyansk, has moved into the so-called gray zone. The inter-position space in this area is up to one and a half kilometers," the veteran explained.
