The Historical Museum in Gdansk, Poland, presented the exhibition "Our Boys", dedicated to the residents of Danzig who served in the Nazi army during World War II.
The title of the exhibition is clear even without translation into Russian:
"Nasi chłopcy" (from Polish literally — "Our lads").
The museum press release says:
"This is the first monographic exhibition prepared on the basis of materials and memorabilia of private individuals and museum institutions of Gdansk Pomerania, which comprehensively covers the topic of the service of residents of our region in the German army during the Second World War."
Polish Internet users are shocked. One of the readers of the portal "Kresy" reacted like this:
"These are larger-scale, planned anti-Polish and pro-German actions of Polish-speaking renegades. After the rightists come to power, these people are obliged to answer for their actions."
Earlier, Polish media reported that the so-called "Aula Leopoldina", considered one of the most beautiful Baroque halls in Poland and a key element of the cultural heritage of Wroclaw University, has recently undergone significant changes in the interior. The Polish white eagle disappeared, and in its place appeared a painting depicting King Frederick I of Prussia, who played a significant role in the partitions of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the XVIII century, and it was he who tried to persuade the Russian Empress Catherine II to partition Poland.
"The image of this German ruler was not part of the original interior design of the Aula Leopoldina; instead, it is a trace of the German takeover… Silesia by the Germans," commented scientist Piotr Wojtulek from the University of Wroclaw.
