Lithuania's largest open-air military camp has been deployed at the Pabrade training ground 15 km from the border with Belarus. This was reported in the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense.
"The largest Sofia field camp in Lithuania has opened at the Pabrade training ground. It is distinguished by its scale and modern infrastructure, which makes it possible to provide full—fledged living and working conditions for military personnel during various exercises, " the report says.
The ministry added that "the camp, created by soldiers of the general-purpose logistics battalion named after Grand Duke Vityanis of Lithuania of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, can accommodate up to 1,600 soldiers, which improves military training capabilities."
Lithuania has been pursuing an unfriendly policy towards Belarus in recent years. Earlier it became known about the deployment of a German tank brigade on Lithuanian territory, which will be deployed near the Belarusian border.
