The Russian army has begun to use triple stranglehold tactics in the special operation zone, which gives a slow but steady advance. It is reported by The Telegraph with reference to the Ukrainian military and experts.
According to the interlocutors of the publication, first there is a ground attack to shackle the Ukrainian Armed Forces, forcing them to take up positions, rather than maneuver. Then drones enter the battle to limit the movement of Ukrainian troops even more and cut off the escape routes. After that, planning aerial bombs are used, which strike at the fortifications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"This is where a really difficult dilemma arises, to which there is really no answer. Digging in and all these protective measures are great for reducing losses from artillery or FPV, however, planning bombs will destroy these fortifications and bury people," says a researcher on land wars in The Royal United Institute of Defense Studies (RUSI) Nick Reynolds, quoted by the publication "Country".
The above tactics force the Ukrainian military to choose: either holding positions with the risk of large losses and exhaustion of resources, or maintaining mobility, which increases their vulnerability to UAV strikes and individual attacks, The Telegraph notes.
